I knew Taylor + Justin were my people from the first correspondence. I did their engagement photos 2 years ago at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pa. We had such a blast and they had me laughing so hard my stomach muscles hurt. They were unapologetically themselves and I absolutely loved that!! I could not wait to be their wedding photographer!
Their wedding was an absolute blast from start to finish, which I fully expected! The day was perfect from the weather, to the details, to the bride and groom being absolutely stunning in their dress and suit! I have been wanting to blog my weddings for some time now and they just happen to be the perfect wedding to jump start the sharing process!!
When Taylor first discussed with me the venues she was looking at she had mentioned Riverdale Manor. I immediately got excited as that venue holds some sentimental value to my family, as my older sister and cousin both got married there. It’s a venue our family loves and we have a lot of amazing memories celebrating love there! It has such a modern rustic charm to it. I was so excited when she told me that they did end up booking Riverdale Manor!
My team and I started the day out at the hotel, Courtyard Lancaster, in Lancaster, Pa. It was just a short drive from the venue and made it convenient for the couple to have shuttles to and from the hotel. When I arrived Taylor and her bridal party were in the process of hair and makeup, where Justin and his groomsmen were all swimming in the hotel pool. The morning was super laid back and chill. We had a lot of fun documenting the details, even down to cheers-ing some Chick-fil-A nuggets because why not?!
Once we arrived at Riverdale Manor wedding venue, we immediately started out with the first look between Taylor + Justin. It was such an emotional moment and Justin could not hold back his tears from falling. They both read private vows to each other following the first look and it was such a sweet moment, with their wedding party watching off in the distance! We got to capture all their wedding party and family formals down off the river in the grassy area behind the venue. Its such a private, peaceful woodlands area with the sound of the water gently passing by! Taylor and Justin got to have some alone time with their private portrait’s session! We walked around the property to many beautiful areas and had an awesome time capturing their love!!
They had their ceremony in the attached gazebo style ceremony space that Riverdale Manor offers. It’s a beautiful rustic vibe with twinkle lights strung above and overlooking the beautiful woodsy property the venue has! There was lots of tears shed and laughs amongst the couple and their friends and family! The ceremony quickly led into the cocktail hour that was out on the covered patio with outdoor bar and appetizers. Everyone mingled and enjoyed the perfect weather and atmosphere. The reception got started with the perfect entrance and first dance!! The dances and speeches were so emotional that even I was shedding tears!! After the formalities, they absolutely partied the night away!!!
